At Heartland’s anniversary benefit dinner in 2008, guests participated in a heated debate about immigration. In the end, the vote was split almost evenly between supporters and opponents of the present restrictive immigration policy. Five years later, the issue is still in front of us. Henryk A. Kowalczyk will present an engineer’s approach to our immigration crisis. By looking at the history of our immigration policy, he will explain how mistakes made about a hundred years ago, and never corrected, weigh on our current immigration problems. He will outline how his analysis of the immigration crisis led to the formulation of the Freedom of Migration Act proposal, www.freedomofmigration.com, the free- market-based immigration policy solution.
