UW-Platteville a ‘best buy’ for online engineering degree


PLATTEVILLE, Wis., July 29, 2013 – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, an accredited pioneer in distance learning (GoUWP.com) for the last 35 years, is among the top schools in the nation for an affordable online master’s degree in engineering, according to Get Educated.com, a consumer group that publishes online university rankings.

 To appear on a Get Educated Best Buy ranking list, the online degree profiled must cost less than the average of all the online degrees reviewed in the comprehensive national data set.  The “Best Buy” ranking indicates that UW-Platteville’s online master’s program in engineering has been independently reviewed, compared to its peers in a comprehensive national survey, and found to offer one of the best values in online graduate education for engineers nationwide. The rankings are based on a national survey of 60 regionally accredited universities that offer 193 different online engineering master’s programs. UW-Platteville ranked 27.

 UW-Platteville has educated engineers for more than 150 years and has earned a strong national reputation. The program primarily develops skills in advanced mathematics, engineering management, technical communications, and computer applications. 

 In May, UW-Platteville earned the same award for its online bachelor’s degree program in business administration.
