The Original Miami Beach Antique Show Hosts Several Special Events for Attendees

Identifying January as Miami Antique Month, dealers and collectors will have more reasons than ever to travel to south Florida in the New Year. For a third year, The Original Miami Beach Antique Show will kick off the festivities by sponsoring the well-attended Art Deco Weekend, Jan. 15-17. All attendees will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the Miami Beach Antique Show by visiting a wide array of antique dealers showcasing their pieces during the three day festival. Also, the show has also created a signature cocktail, Antiques on the Beach, for purchase at the bar located on the 10th block of Ocean Drive in Lummus Park.

“January will be a great time for those with an interest in antiques to explore a variety of unique merchandise and get to know our internationally recognized dealers at these exceptional events. Plus, Appraisal Day will provide the opportunity for those with a treasured piece or family heirloom to uncover more information on its historical background and worth,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager.

In partnership with Skinner Auctioneers & Appraisers, Appraisal Day will again be held at The Original Miami Beach Antique Show, Saturday, Jan. 30 from 12-5 p.m. All attendees, with a valid ticket to the show, are invited to bring one item to be appraised by one of Skinner’s experienced appraisers. Each appraiser will provide an unbiased, expert opinion of the attendee’s collectible or antique, including a verbal estimated range of its fair market value. No written valuations will be given.

Appraisal Day will be held on the second floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center in room C-223. Appraisals will be given on a first come, first served basis. All participating attendees are encouraged to complete the form at www.MiamiBeachAntiqueShow.com to assist the appraisers with the research of their items prior to the event.
During the show on Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31, several top dealers will speak on their area of expertise, from their booth, to interested attendees on the show floor. The booth talks will cover a wide range of topics such as silver, antique canes, fine art, antique enamel, and more and run approximately 15-20 minutes long. These talks are a great way for attendees to learn more about the world of antiques and for dealers to garner interest from potential buyers.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Show, the world’s largest indoor antique show, is held annually at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This must-attend event showcases 1,000 established dealers from across the globe, featuring Renaissance to Art Deco era collections. This includes such items as fine art, American and European silver, antique jewelry, 17th-19th century furniture, porcelain, and more. Over the five day show period, more than 20,000 attendees with a strong interest in antiques and antique jewelry will grace the show floor.

Show times are Thursday, Jan. 28 to Sunday, Jan. 31 from 12-8 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 1 from 12- 5 p.m. Admission is $20 to attend all five days. For more information about the show or to purchase tickets, call 239.732.6642 or visit www.MiamiBeachAntiqueShow.com
