Our foundation is your support – Chicago Philharmonic

For 24 years, the Chicago Philharmonic’s devoted community of musicians and dedicated staff has been providing music lovers of all ages with opportunities to connect with and be transformed by the arts in an intimate way. Our artistic excellence, valuable outreach and innovative programming have won the confidence and support of a growing number of foundations and corporations; however, individual donations still make up 70% of our operating budget and we still need your support. Read on to see why the Chicago Philharmonic has become a sound investment in great music, and consider making a donation today.

EXCELLENCE WITH A DIFFERENCE

One audience member’s online review of Chicago Philharmonic’s Romantic Serenade says it all:

„The Chicago Philharmonic…rivals the CSO in quality. Sitting just 15 feet from the conductor is something I couldn’t hope to get in Orchestra Hall. It’s a different kind of experience, and I’m grateful it’s available to this group at a reasonable cost…Looking forward to the next in the series!”

This coming year, we will continue delivering high quality classical music throughout the greater Chicago area, with symphonic and chamber performances by top musicians, guest conductors and soloists in intimate, easily accessible venues and at reasonable tickets prices.

SHARING THE JOY OF MUSIC WITH THE NEXT GENERATION

„There was such a positive response after the last concert…I even had one family bake me a cake.”

Every concert we offer hundreds of students from greater Chicago area schools the opportunity to attend with family members for free. The value of this program is obvious from the above feedback of a band director from one junior high school. She also told us:

This is such a wonderful opportunity for our families…. 52% of our students are living in poverty…. Without these kinds of opportunities they would never get the chance to hear live music. With the concerts in Evanston, our families can take the bus (many do not own cars). So this is very exciting for us.

We will continue offering our youth outreach programs including Families to the Phil, Side-by-Side, and Next!, helping to ensure that the next generation experiences the joy of transformative artistic experiences, laying the groundwork for music lovers of the future.

EXCITING, INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING

Our programming provides rich and engaging experiences, captivating all from the most dedicated and discerning concertgoer to the newest audience member. This season, for example, our symphonic concerts take you on a journey through the Romantic Era of music, delving into the history and culture of the music, and we are joined onstage by collaborators from the worlds of dance, theater, art history and visual art. We look forward to continuing this eclectic and engaging programming, and have many new ideas in the works for the future.

With sincerest thanks,
