Celebrating May 3rd Polish Constitution Day. First European Constitution, second only in the world. 229th Anniversary – Best wishes to All! Vivat maj!

Poland’s Constitution was ratified in 1791 on this day. Poland’s Constitution developed & strengthened Poland’s national consciousness – & helped a nation that was later divided among 3 partitioning powers for 123 years.

This ornate facsimile beautifully published by Wydawnictwo Sejmowe [Sejm Publishing] is a unique publication in the form of a briefcase that includes the facsimile of the original manuscript, scientific commentary and the English, French, German, and Polish reprinted editions of 1791 publications, and an illustrated insert. This edition was created to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, 1791. The concept, text, selection of illustrations and editing of the publication was prepared by Andrzej Magierski and the design and layout were prepared by Zdzislaw Byczek. The ornate facsimile was published in 2011. It is a gift of the 2013 May 3rd Constitution Parade Marshal, dr. Bronislaw Orawiec.

Na zdjęciach przedstawiamy pięknie wydaną przez Wydawnictwo Sejmowe unikatową publikację w formie ozdobnej teki zawierającej faksymile oryginału, opracowanie naukowe oraz reprinty angielskiego, francuskiego, niemieckiego i polskiego wydania z 1791 roku z wraz z wkładką ilustracyjną. Za koncepcję, tekst, wybór zdjęć i redakcję publikacji odpowiedzialny jest Andrzej Magierski, projekt i przygotowanie do druku wykonał Zdzisław Byczek. Publikacja została wydana przez Kancelarię Sejmu, Wydawnictwo Sejmowe w Warszawie w 2011 roku i ofiarowana Bibliotece MPA przez Marszałka Parady 2013 dra Bronisława Orawca.
