FOR THE POLISH AMERICAN CHAMBER, A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER
CHICAGO, IL (November 27, 2009) -- The November 14 Annual Gala of the Polish American Association (PAA) was especially memorable to the numerous members and friends of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce (PACC) who were in attendance that day at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The PACC was honored as the recipient of the PAA’s 2009 Presidential Award.

“As a business association, we commend the PAA for the dedication and help provided to many immigrants from Poland who have become successful entrepreneurs and members of the PACC,” said Henry Kazmierczak, PACC President, who accepted the award together with Wojtek Madeyski, chairman of the PACC Board.

The PACC's monthly Business After Hours was held on November 19 at the Highlander Home. Also known as the South Side Mixer, the event was attended by a record number of business men and women, including members of the Polish Women in Business association, and others from across the Chicago area.
PACC president Henry Kazmierczak and vice president Anna Goral welcomed all attendees and thanked the Polish Highlander Alliance for their hospitality.
Special guest, Ald. Michael Zalewski addressed the gathering as well. Having been recently elected as President Pro Tempore of the Chicago City Council, Ald. Zalewski reflected on his role, his service to the community, the importance of political involvement, and his Polish connection.

Other guests in attendance included State Rep. D. J. Burke and former Ald. Kwak. With the February '10 primaries fast approaching, it was good and perhaps appropriate to note the presence of candidates for various political positions seeking PACC members' support. Those included Jacob Meister (running for the US Senate); Wanda Majcher (seeking a State senatorial seat); Sylvester Baker, Jr. (candidate for Sheriff of Cook County); and Carl Segvich, county director in the Adam Andrzejewski for Governor campaign office.

(L to R): P. Ryndak, A. Uzarewicz, M. Kupiec, B. Pukszta
By tradition, the program of the evening featured introductions of PACC's newest members by Stan Nowak, vice president and chair of the membership committee. Those present had an opportunity to greet and meet Paul Ryndak (Northern Insurance) and Robert Stafecki (Radio Ampol).

Following the official program, excellent Polish Highlander-style food (including the signature kwasnica), refreshments, and good company were savored by all thanks to the generosity of Anna Goral and the Biolo Izba restaurant.
