Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Frank Avila Endorses Victor Forys for the Cook County Board of Commissioners
Chicago, October 7, 2009—Today, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Frank Avila endorsed Victor Forys for the Cook County Board of Commissioners. Forys is running as a Democrat for the 17th District of the Board.

“We need professional expertise on the Board,” said MWRD Commissioner Frank Avila. “Victor will be the only medical doctor on the Cook County Board, just as I am the only engineer on the MWRD.

The Illinois Committee for Honest Government Strongly Endorses Victor Forys for the Cook County Board of Commissioners
Chicago, October 12, 2009—The Illinois Committee for Honest Government endorsed Victor Forys over the weekend. Forys is a candidate for the 17th district of the Cook County Board of Commissioners. ILCHG was founded in 1986 with the mission to promote responsiveness at all levels of government, while endorsing and working to elect candidates who are committed to fighting unethical behavior and fraud.
"We have not had a doctor on the County Board in over 8 decades,” said Randall Sherman, ILCHG official. "As long as the County government has control of the County Hospital System budget, we must have a physician on the County Board to bring the perspective of a health care provider and experience in this field. The Illinois Committee for Honest Government strongly endorses Dr. Victor Forys for County Commissioner of the 17th Cook County Board District"
“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of the Illinois Committee for Honest Government,” said Forys. “I am eager to begin the work of creating a more responsive, transparent and ethical atmosphere on the Cook County Board.”
Also honored at the event for their contributions to effective, honest government were Governor Pat Quinn, Former State Representative Ruth Munson, Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, Alderman Bob Fioretti, Mayor Peter DiCianni, and Judge Anthony Burrell.
